Woman threatened and locked in toilet

A woman was robbed at gunpoint this morning (Weds) at Corals' betting shop in Dallow Road, Luton.

Armed police were called to the bookmakers at 10.40am after the lone masked raider went into the shop where the victim was working.

He threatened her and locked her in the staff toilet before stealing a large quantity of cash and making his escape.

The woman, who was left very shaken but uninjured, managed to free herself and call the police shortly afterwards.

The young gunman was black and about 5ft 2ins tall. His face was covered with a black balaclava and he wore a dark jacket/jumper and jeans.

Armed officers were sent to the scene and they searched the area, but the robber had already made his getaway.
