Bedford Blues will be desperate to keep their winning run going when they host Rotherham Titans on Saturday.
It's the final regular match of the season before the promotion and relegation play-offs begin and, while the result will not affect which group Bedford finish in, it is a crucial match for their opponents.

Rotherham can still finish in the top eight, but they have to win and hope that other results go their way.

Blues director of rugby Mike Rayer said: "They've got everything to play for so we've got to be mentally and physically prepared otherwise we'll get burnt.

"We want to go into the promotion play-offs in good spirits and with a winning performance. It's a big game for us."

Rotherham, who are currently lying 10th, three points behind eighth, will come out all guns blazing for the victory. They will also be hoping both Moseley and Plymouth Albion fail to win.

Rayer continued: "They're desperate for the points and they'll throw the kitchen sink at us. It's not in our nature to go into a game and not go for the win. I'll put out a strong line-up and the boys will be up for it.

"The last thing we want is a setback going into the last part of the season. We've won our last three matches and we want to keep that momentum going."

In Bedford's last outing, in the British & Irish Cup, they recorded an impressive 23-0 victory at Moseley.

But Rayer is aware of Rotherham's threat, saying: "Their position belies them because they have a great rugby tradition and a reputation for being a good rugby team. We have to respect them and make sure we're ready for the match."

Rayer has got a strong squad to pick from after recently rotating the team around, adding: "Everyone's had a chance to put their hand up in the last few matches and stake their claim for a place in the first team.

"We've gained a lot of confidence from our last three games and we're looking forward to this match."
