Angling round-up


The top three at the Blunham AC and Marlins Open Charity Match all fished on adjacent pegs on Sunday.

A total of 28 anglers braved the wintery conditions at Willington with Neile Shearn (Vauxhall) on peg 78 winning with 13lb 13oz, made up of a few good perch and plenty of small fish.

Second place went to Vauxhall AC's Paul Caton on peg 80, with an all roach catch of 9lb 6oz, and Blunham's Dave Bowler was third on peg 79 with 6lb 11oz of roach and perch. Section winners were Steve King (St Albans) with 5lb 3oz, Ray Hickman (Vauxhall) with 2lb 12oz and Bob Irvin (Blunham) with 1lb 1oz.

The match raised £140 for Marlins Special Needs Water Activities Club.
