Bedfordshire School Meals Week across the county

Youngsters across the county have been getting a taste of healthy eating.

Bedfordshire School Meals Week was promoted by Bedford Borough Council, Central Bedford Council and Bedford Hospital this month.

Fun competitions included challenges to create a recipe, posters and comic strip.

Winning students were served up prizes such as bering fed their own recipe for a healthy meal, and having their own healthy eating comic strip drawn professionally.

Carol Leverkus, lead dietitian for young people and families from Bedford Hospital, said: "It is so pleasing to receive so many exciting recipes and ideas about eating well together through our competition.

"We hope most of the children in our schools will eat a meal together and try these fun, winning recipes."
