People living in Caddington showed up in droves to voice disquiet about controversial plans to change Luton Airport flightpaths.
More than 600 householders took part in a protest on the village green on Saturday, alarmed at a possible increase in the amount of air traffic that could be set to fly over the village.
Jane Payton, of Caddington's Flightpath Action Group, said: 'It was a really, really amazing turnout.
'It would be a very serious change to our lifestyle and our way of life. We realise that we're living near an airport and we'll take our fair share of the noise, but we don't want all of it.
'We're also worried about the schools. The main village school is situated on one site which would be right underneath the flightpath.'
