Motormouth Jon Gaunt also branded Tory councillor 'ignorant pig'

Controversial 'shock jock' Jon Gaunt has been suspended from his TalkSport radio show after branding a Conservative councillor a "Nazi". The former Luton News/Dunstable Gazette columnist was taken off the air after a debate with Councillor Michael Stark, who was defending Redbridge Council's decision to ban smokers from becoming foster parents.

Gaunty, who is famous for being outspoken, has strong views on child welfare after spending part of his childhood in a care home. He also called Mr Stark an "ignorant pig" during the discussion, but was forced to apologise to listeners after the show due to a number of complaints.

Former BBC Three Counties Radio presenter Mr Gaunt was unable to comment after seeking legal advice. A TalkSport spokesman said: "TalkSport has taken the decision to suspend Jon Gaunt whilst the matter is investigated. When we have all the facts at our disposal we will take whatever action, if any, that we deem appropriate."
