London Road creation can be admired by everyone

The work of a budding artist has been splashed all over hoarding outside new flats in London Road.

Dunstable college student Joseph Hricovec created the design titled Let Your Dunstable Grow.

The image was chosen as the winner in a competition organised by the Aldwyck Housing Association as part of a creative project aimed at encouraging young people to show why they are proud of the area and what they think of the community.

And as a reward for producing the image he also bagged £350 cash.

Students from the final year of graphic design at Dunstable College were invited to submit their entries for the contest, which was themed Pride.

A panel of judges was invited to view entries, including representatives of Aldwyck Housing, GHM Architects and Free Form Arts Trust.

A Central Beds Council spokesperson said: "The competition is part of Building In The Arts Free Form ArtsTrust working in partnership with the council and the community, with support from the Arts Council England East.

"This competition is a great way of getting young people involved and thinking about the future of their community, and why they are proud to be part of their community."
