Two masked men raid retail park fast food restaurant
Police are appealing for witnesses to an attempted armed robbery in broad daylight in Dunstable.
Two men in balaclavas jumped over the counter at the KFC restaurant in the White Lion Retail Park and threatened staff with a knife on Wednesday last week (June 6).
It happened at around 4.10pm.
Workers at the fast food branch escaped through a back entrance, but one was grabbed and ordered to open the safe.
He didn't have the keys, so the men fled.
They got into a grey or silver car, with a registration plate beginning with the letter P.
The car was seen heading off towards the Woodside area, and the driver is described as black, well built and with a shaved head.
One of the attackers is thought to be white.
Det Sgt Jay Bains, investigating, said: "Although no-one was hurt this was a frightening incident for the staff and we are keen to apprehend those people responsible.
"Anyone who saw them, the car, or knows who the offenders are, is urged to get in touch with us as soon as possible."
Anyone with information can contact Dunstable CID, in confidence, on 01582 473325 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
