Palace striker's move almost collapsed
Calvin Andrew made an instant impact for new club Crystal Palace as he scored twice in the Eagles' 4-0 win at Tavistock on Monday night.
And the 21-year-old revealed that his move to Selhurst Park was close to collapse.
He said: "I was told that Mr Warnock fancied me as a player and the move all came from there – I was meant to go to Plymouth in January but that fell through because of the situation at Luton.
"And the same thing happened with my move to Palace – it nearly didn't happen.
"But, I'm here now and I'm so pleased, I'm so happy.
"It's a brilliant club and it's a great place to be. I'm sure it will make me a better player and help me further my game.
"It is a very good step up for me. It is a bit of a big leap from League Two. But it's pleasing and I am confident in my ability and that I can show what I can do in this league.
"Not only is it a massive club but we have a great manager and they have got great ambition and I am just glad to be a part of it.."
