Bangladesh side Sonali Otith eased to a 6-1 friendly victory against Brache Sparta Community Old Boys at Foxdell Recreation Ground.

Old Boys, managed by Mohammed Akhlaq and captained by Subash Karwadara, struggled against the Sonali team, part of the Bangladesh Football Association and managed by Shamim Hussain and skippered by Haroon Khan.

Nigel Dominic started the match in goal for Old Boys, but Sonali opened the scoring with a counter-attack as they caught Brache's defence napping.

Mansoor Rathor then took over in goal after Dominic had made a string of four good saves for the Old Boys.

Sonali scored two more goals before the break, as the Old Boys managed only one shot in the first half though Sewa Kang.

In the second-half the Spartans came out with more fight and created a number of chances.

Kang went close, while Prince Najjer Gittens should have had a hat-trick, as he also struck a penalty against a post.

Rathor tipped one shot over the bar from a Sonali forward, but could do nothing to prevent the Bangladeshi side adding three more goals.

Old Boys scored a consolation goal through Dominic, while Butch Fazel blasted over from close range.

Paul Kumar and Jarnal Singh, meanwhile, showed great endeavour to turn out for the day.
