John O'Callaghan Luton Five-Mile Road Race round-up


Darren Deed won the John O'Callaghan Luton Five-Mile Road Race for the eighth consecutive time with a record-breaking performance on Friday.

Deed, who runs for Bedford & County AC, covered the distance in 24.58mins to take the title with Luton AC's Daniel Woodgate nearly two minutes behind in second.

Shaftesbury Barnett AC's Jack Parslow finished in third and Dunstable Road Runner Craig Palmer was fourth.

Nene Valley Harrier Ian Aunger completed the top five.

The winner of the ladies section was Louise Peters of Stopsley Striders who was 20th in a time of 32.57mins, leading the Striders to the team title in the process.
