Target man Liam Hatch will be hoping to make more of a mark than his father did at Kenilworth Road following his season-long move to the Hatters.

Luton Town have the option of buying the 27-year-old striker from Peterborough United at the end of his loan spell, but Town fans will be hoping he will be more prolific than his father Bob, also a striker, who was at Kenilworth Road in the 1970s but never played for the first team.

On his move, Hatch said: "I came and spoke to Mick Harford and he said the things the club wanted to do and get back in the league. It all sounded great. It's my local club and my dad played for them a few years ago.

"We used to go up the field with him so it's probably where I picked it up from."

And Hatch is no stranger to Kenilworth Road having watched the Hatters as a child when he lived in Letchworth.

He said: "I used to go and watch Luton when I was a kid, when the big steel fences were up and I had to sit on my dad's shoulders."
