Blennerhassett steps back into the ring


Ricky Blennerhassett overcame four hip operations to claim victory in his first fight since March 2005 on Friday night.

Despite a slight limp, he scored a unanimous points victory over Sammy Shield of host club Milton Keynes Victors.

Zak Hussain also claimed a unanimous point victory over Billy Freshwater, also of Milton Keynes Victors, in the best fight of the night.

Both fighters are coached by Sam Morgan, and took part in support bouts to the Junior ABA championships.
