Action from the Luton and District Midweek Cricket League


Some good bowling from Luton Pakistanis, followed by some impressive batting, earned them an eight-wicket victory over Luton Hawks in the Luton and District Midweek Cricket League's opening round of matches on Tuesday night.

Hawks were dismissed for just 88 in their Premier Division match, Zahir Khan top scoring with 31. Tahir Murtaza claimed three wickets for just 13 runs off his four overs, while Wajid Sohail, Shahis Sadik and Irfan Ul Haq all claimed braces.

Saghir Nazir led Pakistanis victory charge with an undefeated 38.
Dallow, meanwhile, scored 143-5 as they beat Saracens by 60 runs.
Qasim was Dallow's star turn, taking five wickets for just 12 runs off his four overs.

In Division One, Luton Majestic scored a 57-run victory against Pakistani Crescent. Yasir Arfat top scored for Majestic with 32 as they totalled 128-8.

Kingsway CC scorched to a 84-run victory against Hatters CC in Division Two.

Zahoor smacked 76 as Kingsway made 154-6 and Hatters were dismissed for 70, Hussain leading the way with 3-17.
Saracens II, meanwhile, claimed an eight wicket win against the Sixth Form College.

The College could only make 80-6 and Aamir and Tabraiz led Saracens home with undefeated knocks of 33 and 32.
