Triple sin-binning proves costly

Dunstablians U19s endured a miserable 8-0 defeat to Oundle in a low scoring encounter at the weekend.

Three players were sin-binned in the defeat, while Lukas Chamberlain and Tim Mimms received hospital treatment, for a head injury and a suspected broken leg, respectively.

After great win against Leighton Buzzard last weekend Dunstablians IVs' great expectations were deflated with a 44-21 defeat to Vauxhall IIs, writes Paul Underwood.

Vauxhall surged into a two-try lead, but Dunstable rallied two score two well-worked tries through Tim Bouts and Duncan Jones, James Marchant converting both to give Dees a 14-12 half time lead.

The second half was a scrappier affair, with Vauxhall dominating possession and territory and Dees missing tackles as the visitors put the game beyond reach.

A few choice words from skipper Jim Stewart put fire back in the bellies of the home side and, late in the second half and against the run of play, Dunstable managed to cross the Motors' line again, Bouts crashing home from five yards out.

However, it was too little too late for the home side who tired and frustrated, slipped off tackles in the last play of the game to allow Vauxhall to claim one last score.

Dees man of the match went to Keith Bennett who, though substituted, put in a towering effort at the heart of the pack.
