Debut win for Lewsey's McPherson

Lewsey Boxing Club's Alec McPherson claimed victory in his debut amateur bout with a second round stoppage of Welwyn Garden City's Greg Felton. At the Welwyn Garden City open tournament, McPherson's crouching style proved too much for the 6ft 6ins Felton who was taking big blows to the head and body when the referee intervened. Lewsey juniors Coner Maclen and Gavin Colquhoun are in action at the Bedford ABC dinner tournament this week.
