School's Year 5 team bag tournament win

Prolific striker Shakeel Hussain smashed an impressive 12 goals in just seven games to help fire Someries' Year 5 team to victory in their tournament at Stopsley High school on Friday.

Along with skipper Hussain, Dean Hodges (5) and Robert Price (3) also had their shooting boots on along the way.

In the group phase, there were wins over William Austin, 5-0, Maidenhall, 2-1 along with a 1-1 draw with St Joseph's and a narrow 4-3 reverse at the hands of St Martins.

A 4-1 last eight victory over Hillborough was followed up by a 4-2 success against Warden Hill to seal their place in the final.

Awaiting them was a re-match with St Martins and, this time, it was Someries who took the plaudits, as they went on to take the trophy with a 3-1 win.
