Round-up of angling action

The good weather attracted a sizable number of anglers to the Grand Union Canal. Plenty of perch were caught with the best being a 2lb 7oz specimen snared by Tom Sargeant on the town stretch.

On section nine, Frank Wilson netted a 16lb common, while Dave Murdoch Snr reeled in a 4lb 10oz tench on the Lavendon upstream stretch. At Beckerings Reservoir, Dave Williamson had some joy on Friday night with a brace of carp that weighed in at 26lb and 25lb respectively.

Darren Bliss had two carp that exceeded 20lb, while Mark Sessions snared a 17lb 8oz common. On the South Lagoon, Wyboston, Mark Simmonds caught a 10lb 13oz mirror and Russell Bundy a 7lb 8oz bream.

Nigel Long attracted an 11lb 4oz pike on the river, while on North House Lake, Terry Mayes netted commons of 24lb 14oz and 16lb 2oz.
