Richard Gottfried produced a solid performance in the Midland Open at Stratford-upon-Avon's Recreation Ground on Sunday.

In the 54-hole event, the Lutonian recorded rounds of 39, 36 and 37 for a four-over-par total of 112. Newcastle's John Moore took the honours on the day with a 15-under-par 93 total which included a course record 29.

Gottfried is currently placed 18th in the BMGA Order of Merit after seven events with 1,475 points. After the event, Gottfried said: "I'm pleased to have got another top-ten finish on the BMGA Tour.

"I am always happy to play at the excellent course in Stratford, unfortunately I haven't hit enough holes-in-one there to rank higher in the two events held there this year."

This month, Gottfried is competing in the British Championships, Manchester Miniature Open and British Matchplay
Championships.
