But Vauxhall Motors went down by 29-17
Unbeaten in the league Stockwood Park streaked to another Midlands Five East South success by beating Aylestone Athletic at home 36-7. Park were dominant throughout and their backs put down five scoring chances.
The hosts started brightly, Steve Pollock scything though Aylestone's defence after just four minutes to score under the posts, with the self same player adding the extras. Joe Collen then registered his first ever try for the club by zig-zagging over the line from a five metre lineout, although the conversion was missed.
Stockwood then missed several chances before Aylestone centre crashed through Park's defence for a converted try on 25 minutes. Pollock cemented the hosts' lead with a penalty three minutes later and thinks got hearted soon after when a heavy tackle by Jeremy Fournier resulted in a 14-man brawl, which saw two Park and three visiting players sin-binned.
And Stockwood capitalised just before the break when Paul Harman raced 50 metres from a quickly taken tap penalty to touch down in the corner, with Pollock converting. Park started the second half with a bang, James Hankey running through the centre from 22 metres out, with Pollock on target with the boot.
And Stockwood rounded off victory on 65 minutes when a well worked move allowed Martin Rowe crash over under the posts. Park entertain Keyworth in the fourth round of the Junior Vase Cup at the weekend.
Vauxhall Motors, meanwhile, went down 29-17 at Rugby St Andrews in Midlands Four East South. No tries were scored in the first half and, despite a penalty after 20 minutes, Motors trailed 9-3 at the break.
