Aspiring engineers flocked to easyJet’s hangar 89 to hear more about the budget airline’s new apprenticeship programme.

Ten successful applicants will work towards an advanced apprenticeship in aeronautical engineering.

Spokesman Ian Davies said: “We’re looking for enthusiastic candidates of 18 upwards who are happy to get their hands dirty and play their part in the airline’s engineering and commercial success.

“We carry more than 55 million passengers each year so it’s a great opportunity where the sky’s the limit.”

Applicants should have a minimum of four GCSEs or an HNC, NHD or degree.
