A 22-year-old man from Luton has been released on bail after an alleged sexual assault in Dunstable.

The attack is understood to have taken place between 2am and 6am in Grove Park, on Friday, July 3.

The entire park remained closed for much of Friday, as forensic investigators worked to establish exactly where it took place.

A Beds Police spokesman said: “The incident occurred in Grove Park between 2am and 6am, after a man and women left Cookies and Cream nightclub.

“Officers were called at around 6.15am to reports that a woman had been assaulted.”

He added: “A 22-year-old man from Luton arrested in connection with a sexual assault in Dunstable has been bailed until September.

“A cordon was set up to protect the area while scenes of crime officers examined possible sites of the alleged incident.”
