A number of items of Asian gold jewellery and several watches were stolen, along with cash. Among the watches were Guess, Armani and Tissot models.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who recognises the items pictured, or has been offered similar items for sale.

PC James Mirza, investigating, said: “At Bedfordshire Police we take burglary extremely seriously and are stepping up our response to this crime type with a new project dedicated to tracking down criminals and reducing offending.

“We recognise that having your home broken into is hugely distressing for victims, and in this instance sentimental items were taken by callous thieves.
