Police helicopter called out to angry mob in Dunstable after fears of knife attack

A police helicopter was called out an angry mob in Dunstable after fears that one of the group of men was carrying a knife.

The helicopter circled the Downside area for at least ten minutes after concerns were raised on Tuesday, July 28.

A Beds Police spokesman said: “We were called at 5.20pm on Tuesday to an altercation between a group of men in Southwood Road, Dunstable, and reports that one of the group was in possession of a knife.

“The NPAS helicopter was deployed to search the area, and the men were located and searched.

“No weapon was recovered and no offences were found to have been committed.”
