A teenager needed 20 stitches to his mouth after he was attacked and stripped naked by three men.

The victim was assaulted as he made his way home in Houghton Regis following an argument with his ex-partner.

As the 19-year-old walked through Copperfields Close he was approached by his attackers at about 11pm on June 17.

They left him in the road after wounding him and removing all his clothing.

He called the emergency services and was taken to the Luton & Dunstable Hospital where ten stitches were inserted inside his mouth and ten on the outside. He also lost several teeth during the attack.

PC Lavern Charles, investigating, is keen to speak with anyone who was in the area at the time of the assault and may have seen the attackers or the incident taking place. One of the three was black, in his early 20s, 5ft 8ins tall and of stocky build. The others were both white and in their mid-20s.

Three people have been arrested in relation to this incident and released on police bail.
