Yob threw woman to the ground to steal bag in Houghton Regis

A yob threw a woman to the ground in order to steal her bag in Houghton Regis.

The robbery took place in Churchfield Road on Wednesday, June 1.

At around 1pm, the woman was returning to her home and placed her handbag on a bin while preparing to open the door. She was pushed to the ground by a man who made off with her bag and its contents, including £30 in cash.

The offender is described as white, slender and over six feet tall. He had his face covered and was wearing a grey top and grey tracksuit bottoms which appeared dirty.

The victim’s bag is a small black leather clutch bag, approximately eight inches long and four inches high.

PC Rebecca Wayland said: “This brazen robbery took place in broad daylight, so I am hopeful someone in the area will have seen something that could help our investigation. If you saw a man matching the description in the area at the time, I would urge you to get in touch with us.”
