Have your say

Although the Queen was born on 21 April, she also has an official birthday which thisyear will be Saturday 11 June.

This tradition it seems is linked to our lousy weather and wanting to hold the royalcelebration in the sun. It is believed that this started in 1748, during the reign of King George II.

If I was the Queen celebrating my ninetieth birthday, I’m not sure two functions would be quite enough! So, in Dunstable we are adding a date to the festivities!!

To celebrate Her Majesty, The Queen’s 90th Birthday there will be a Party in the Market!

Alongside our regular general market in the Ashton Square area, will be a range of new stalls and traders with a Special Hair &Beauty theme, trading from 9am.

Thinking about refreshing your look? What better excuse than the Queen’s Birthday!

You are also invited to a Street Party in her honour.

From 10.30 am to 12 noon the party will take place in Middle Row, so put on your best hat and join the fun.

There will be free refreshments, children’s entertainment, music, giveaways andmore!

Come along and say a Happy Birthday to Her Majesty.

Coming soon..Dunstable Market themed market programme on the first Saturday of every month to the end of the year, beginning with a craft theme in July.
