A new head has been appointed at a Houghton Regis college that failed its very first Ofsted inspection and was labelled ‘inadequate’.
Lesley Glover’s appointment at Central Bedfordshire University Technology College, Parkside Drive, follows the announcement that it will be sponsored by Bedford College.
Ms Glover, pictured above, is known to students and parents as she was part of the senior leadership team that had been mapping out a route to improvements at UTC.
She said: “We are looking forward to some great results this summer from our students which will reward the faith put in us by families and the local community. We will be working to build on those successes with even more students joining us in September.”
Sixth form-age students are still able to apply to join the specialist careers-orientated courses at UTC from September, including BTEC extended diplomas and A-levels in science, technical, engineering and maths-related subjects.
