House gutted in early morning blaze

A house was gutted by fire that broke out early on Sunday morning.

Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue service attended a serious house fire in Thornhill Road, Luton at 6.30am o.

Fire crews from Luton, Dunstable and Stopsley quickly arrived to find the ground and first floor of the semi-detached property well alight. The crews fought the fire using breathing apparatus, jets, hose reels, thermal imaging cameras and the aerial platform.

The ground and first floor of the property was 100% damaged by smoke and heat and the roof 25% damaged.

A Fire and Police investigation is now underway. There were no casualties and the incident was closed at 8.40am.
