Aldwyck Housing Group have been shortlisted for the two categories they entered at the Tenant Participation Advisory Service (TPAS) Central Region Awards.

Aldwyck have been nominated for their work with residents at Sandringham Drive in Houghton Regis and for providing popular youth and community activities for local residents.

The awards recognise initiatives that have made a real difference to people’s lives and their wider communities.

Aldwyck have been shortlisted in the Excellence in Youth Involvement category for their highly successful youth project at Sandringham Drive, which has now been running since early 2012.

Young resident Damien Czerwiak, who recently won Young Hero of the Year at the Dunstable Community Awards, has also been shortlisted for Young Tenant of the Year in recognition of his fantastic contribution to making his community a better place to live.

Andrew Cobb, executive director of housing and customer services, said: “It’s wonderful that TPAS have recognised the great work we are doing at Sandringham Drive, not just on a community wide level but also with individual members of the community.

“Our involvement strategy will see us reaching out to new areas in 2014 and, through the expansion of our Local Action Groups, will continue to make a difference to the communities we serve.”

The winners will be announced at the TPAS Central Awards Final in Birmingham on March 7.
