Two concerts are taking place today and tomorrow involving children from schools across Central Bedfordshire.
The concerts are being held on Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 June at the Grove Theatre, in Dunstable, with both starting at 6pm.
They are being staged by Inspiring Music, Central Bedfordshire’s music service, which was set up to offer musical opportunities for people of all ages.
Around 1,500 Year 3 and 4 pupils from more than 50 Central Bedfordshire schools have been involved with Inspiring Music this year.
And the Sing Out, Play Out! concerts will be a celebration of that with hundreds of young voices raising the roof each night.
Today’s concert features pupils from Ardley Hill Academy, Icknield, Watling, Hawthorn Park, St Mary’s, Stanbridge and Hockliffe schools.
And Wednesday’s features youngsters from Westoning, Harlington, Sundon, Ramsey Manor, Chalton, Toddington St George’s, Thornhill, Houghton Regis and Tithe Farm schools.
Councillor Mark Versallion, Executive Member for Education and Skills, said: “If you’ve never had the pleasure of attending an Inspiring Music event before then I would urge you to go along, because you are bound to leave with a smile on your face.
“The service does a fantastic job getting young people involved in music in a number of innovative ways, and these concerts are really an end-of-term celebration of what has been another incredibly successful year.”
Tickets cost £6 for adults, £4 for concessions (plus a £1.50 booking fee) and are available from www.grovetheatre.co.uk or by calling the box office on 01582 602080.
