A man visiting Dunstable was left with a fractured skull and a bleed on the brain after being attacked in an apparently unprovoked assault in the town centre in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The 28-year-old victim was walking through the Quadrant shopping centre with a friend at about 2am after a night out.

From nowhere, a man came running towards him and hit him in the head, kicked him and then carried on running.

The victim was knocked unconscious and was taken to hospital for treatment to his head injury. He has now been transferred to a hospital nearer to home where doctors hope that he will make a good recovery.

He can remember little about the attack and can only say that his attacker was a white man.

If you were in the area and saw any of this incident, contact Det Con Mark Bryce at Luton CID on 01582 394088, or on non-emergency number 101.
