A James Bond lookalike from Eaton Bray will take on a challenge that would scare The Living Daylights out of most people, when he sets out to climb Everest on Saturday (October 5).
David Broddle, 51, is part of a 25-strong team from banking group Santander trekking to Everest Base Camp to raise funds for child cancer charity CLIC Sargent.
The team hope to reach base camp on Monday, October 14.
With a bit-on-the-side job as aDaniel Craig impersonator, David plans to pose in a bow tie once he reaches his destination.
He said: “It’s a unique opportunity. Some of the team will be allowed to climb the glacier above the base camp, so that is a personal challenge for me.
“I’ve walked in hills around here and Switzerland, but my treks usually have a pub at the end of them!”
CLIC Sargent is this year’s charity of choice for Santander, and was voted for by its employees.
David said: “I’m glad we’re doing it for CLIC Sargent, it’s a great charity and it’s the one I voted for.”
