Everything in the garden was lovely as green-fingered villagers took part in an annual competition run by Totternhoe Parish Council.
First place in the Totternhoe Best Kept Front Garden Competition went to Maureen and Eric Harris, of Poplar Farm Mobile Home Park.
Judges said: “Good all-round interest, with many colourful and well-maintained baskets and containers.”
Second were Rosemary and Dudley Upton, of Brightwell Avenue, and in third place was Mollie Field, of Brookfield Park, Castle Hill Road.
Mr and Mrs Harris also won the best garden for the senses category.
Ms Field won the category for innovative use of planting, smallest garden.
Highly commended gardens: Mr and Mrs Martin, Knolls View; Mr and Mrs Boon, Castle Close; Mr and Mrs Sharp, Poplar Farm Mobile Home Park.
Other awards included: best feature, Mr and Mrs Jones, Castle Hill Road; best hanging basket/containers, Mr and Mrs G. Ellis, Dunstable Road; best commercial property, The Cross Keys pub, Castle Hill Road.
First prize for best kept allotment went to Mr S. Gardner, Church End Allotments.
Highly commended allotments: Mrs P. Ellis, Church End Allotments; Mr J. Boon, Lower End Allotments; Ms. E. Romeril, Church End Allotments.
A prize-giving ceremony will be held next month in Totternhoe Memorial Hall.
