Bedfordshire Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a 14-year-old boy was left with injuries to his head after being assaulted in Houghton Regis.
The attack took place at around 7.40pm on Monday, October 21 as the victim was walking with a friend along Recreation Road.
The pair saw a group of eight youths wearing dark clothing walking towards them.
The victim and his friend decided to walk the other way, but as they got to the junction of Recreation Road and Blackthorn Road they heard footsteps behind them and then the victim was knocked to the ground and hit to the head. He then saw the gang running away.
PC Lucy Austin, who is investigating the assault, is keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the attack, may have witnessed the assault or may have any information about the offenders.
