A large vacant store in Dunstable town centre has been given a new lease of life, as the new British Heart Foundation Furniture and Electrical outlet. Shoppers have been flocking to the store, in West Street, since its launch on Tuesday, August 27.
The team are selling a wide range of new, pre-owned and vintage goods at affordable prices. Donations so far have included suites, wardrobes, dining sets, beds, TVs, washing machines, fridges and dishwashers. More donations are needed to boost their stock. Cash raised funds pioneering research.
BHF researcher Dr Derek Warren said: “When you consider that selling two sofas could fund a scientist like me for a whole day, it really puts it into perspective how much this store can help us keep fighting for every heartbeat.”
A free collection service is available for donations of larger household items. Call 01234 215218, or book via www.bhf.org.uk/free.
