Construction will start next week at the Priory view retirement living development in Dunstable.

Friday’s event is to celebrate the start of the construction work on the Church street site.

The development will be built and run by Central Bedfordshire council and will have 83 apartments for people aged over 55.

Apartments will be available for couples and individuals.

Flexible care and support services will be provided on site so residents can stay independent and avoid lonliness and they know help is on hand if needed.

There will be a cafe, a shop, health and beauty facilities and hobby rooms available to use by residents and open to the public.

Galliford Try won the contract to build the project, it is due to open in Autumn 2015.
