Public meetings will be held soon by Central Beds Council at each of the three Dunstable middle schools at the centre of closure fears.
Six weeks of consultation on the potential closure of Ashton Middle, Brewers Hill Middle and Streetfield Middle schools begin on February 24.
Now the council has announced the dates of public meetings at the schools. Details are as follows.
> Ashton Voluntary Aided Middle School: 7pm, Monday, March 3.
> Brewers Hill Middle School: 7pm, Tuesday, March 4.
> Streetfield Middle School: 7pm, Wednesday, March 5.
At each meeting, there will be a presentation from the council outlining the background for the proposals and the consultation process.
After that, there will be time for questions and further discussion.
Separate meetings have been arranged for staff at the three schools.
Executive councillor Mark Versallion, who has special responsibilities for children’s services, said: “This is an extremely important decision and I want the consultation process to be as comprehensive and inclusive as possible.
“So it’s really important that the community, most importantly parents, attend these meetings and express their views.
“Everything that is discussed at the meetings will be taken into consideration as we move forward through the consultation process.”
