Fruits to come after 22,000 Dunstable daffodils

First Avenue, Dunstable

Last autumn members of Dunstable In Bloom, among others, planted 22,000 daffodil bulbs in many parts of the town.

The group described it as “hard and enjoyable work”, but they are now seeing the benefits of this enterprise, adding splashes of colour all around Dunstable.

Hugh Garrod, chairman of Promoting Dunstable, said: “We are grateful to the Dunstable Joint Committee for the grant which enabled this project to take place.

“It will be part of our bid to win a Gold award in this year’s Anglia In Bloom competition. We have a further grant to plant fruit trees in selected sites.”
