Dunstable’s inspirational toddler Lilly Macglashan has had some more positive news in her ongoing battle with cancer – but still relies on the help of kind-hearted fundraisers.
The three-year-old, who was born with childhood cancer neuroblastoma, had an all-clear ophthalmology scan in New York last week.
Lilly is currently awaiting the results of recent MRI and MIBG scans.
Mum Dawn Taylor said: “After Lilly received all her scans the nurse took the IV out, which they use to give anaesthetic. I said, ‘There you go, no more hurting!’ Lilly put her arms in the air and said ‘YES!’
“The doctor was really happy to report that her eyes are impressive and that it is amazing how clear they are.
“We are over the moon for Lilly.”
Since birth, Lilly has relied on public fundraising and the kindness of strangers to pay for essential treatment in America unavailable on the NHS.
To date, her treatment and travel fees have cost well over £1million.
Dawn said to Lilly’s 4,178 followers on Facebook: “Lilly has two more appointments to do. I will update on these – as well as the scans – as soon as I have the results.”
> Passionate Lilly supporters Total Action Wrestling will be hosting another fundraising event on November 8 at Peter Newton Pavillion in Dunstable.
A TAW show in February raised £850 and this time they hope to raise over £1,000.
