Outstanding in every area – that’s the verdict on Lark Rise Academy, Dunstable, after the school was checked out by Ofsted inspectors.
Everyone involved with the Cartmel Drive academy is “delighted” with the glowing report.
The team says: “Now Lark Rise is looking to the future – the academy has an exciting year ahead.
“The children, staff and governors will celebrate their Ofsted outcome in style and are looking forward to becoming a primary school and welcoming Year 5 children in September.”
Inspectors gave “outstanding” ratings for the academy’s overall effectiveness; achievement of pupils; quality of teaching; behaviour and safety of pupils; and leadership and management.
And there was high praise for governors and for head Rebecca Baker.
The report said: “The headteacher is unswerving in her determination to ensure the very best for all the pupils.”
Inspectors noted: “Achievement is outstanding and by the end of Year 4, pupils reach high standards in reading, writing and mathematics.
“Teaching is consistently at least good and much is outstanding.”
They were also impressed by the pupils’ behaviour.
The report said: “Pupils’ behaviour is outstanding.
“They are motivated, determined and show a strong willingness to persevere when the learning becomes more challenging.”
