The moped rider involved in a hit-and-run collision in Houghton Regis on Monday (December 2) has been left with “life-changing” injuries.
The 23-year-old was riding down Parkside Drive at about 5.30pm when he collided with a black Volkswagen Golf.
The offending vehicle failed to stop and left the scene but was found close by police in Gilpin Close shortly afterwards.
The victim was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, where he remains.
PC David Holmes said: “This young man has been left with terrible life changing injuries.
“He has already undergone lengthy surgery and has a long road of recovery ahead of him.
“We do not know why the driver left the scene of the collision but it is vital we identify this person or people who were in the VW Golf at the time.”
