A revamp to modernise facilities at Dunstable Library is nearing completion, and the reopening is scheduled for Monday, February 11.
The library has been closed since January 21 to allow the upgrade to take place.
New features include self-service technology, a refreshment machine and measures to cut energy bills and carbon emissions.
Self-service desks allow members of the public to scan in items that they want to borrow, return or renew. Staff should then have more time to help library users.
It is all part of Central Beds Council’s 15-year library modernisation scheme.
