Police are appealing for information after two firearms were stolen in a raid on a house in Houghton Regis on Tuesday, December 10.

The firearms were taken from a house in Yew Street.

Police say the stolen items were an air rifle and a .22 rim fire rifle with a laminate brown wood stock which had a 3-9 x 50 Hawk telescopic sight in a Carlos camouflage sling.

The firearms were taken during a burglary which was carried out some time between 4.50pm and 7.50pm.

The front door was forced open.

Det Con Simon Day, the officer in charge of the investigation, is keen to trace anyone who may have been offered these items for sale.

He would also like to speak to anyone who saw someone acting suspiciously in the Yew Street area last week.

Anyone with information which could help with this investigation is urged to contact Det Con Day, in confidence, at Luton Police Station, on 01582 394449.

Or call Beds Police on the non-emergency number 101.
