Flower power has struck gold for the third time for Dunstable, rated as one of the best of the bunch in this year’s Anglia In Bloom.
For Dunstable has won a gold award in the large town category of the regional contest for a third time.
Certificates for nominations went to Dunstable for three other categories of the 2013 contest.
The town’s Priory Gardens were nominated in the Best Public Open Space section.
Chiltern School Sensory Garden, Dunstable, was nominated in the Best Garden For Special Needs category.
And Willow Nursery School, Dunstable, was nominated in the section for the Best Young People’s Project (aged 12 and under).
An awards ceremony was held on Tuesday, September 10.
Dunstable Town Council is “delighted” and sees the award and nominations as “excellent recognition” of the hard work and effort put in by the council and the community.
Anglia In Bloom chairman Bob Ollier said: “I wish to congratulate all the communities and neighbourhoods in the East of England, for the enthusiasm, commitment and effort made to improve, develop and sustain local environments across our region. It is a great credit to you all. Well done.”
