A star-studded evening is ahead for Dunstable’s annual outdoor carols and town tree lights switch-on this Friday, December 6.

Dunstable mayor Councillor John Chatterley will be joined by cast members from Grove Theatre panto Dick Whittington for the big moment.

The VIP visitors are expected to include Leslie Grantham, famed as Dirty Den in EastEnders, and Ryan Moloney, aka Toadfish from TV’s Neighbours.

It’s hoped there will be a special extra guest at the concert – Santa Claus.

The event begins around 7pm, with a torchlight procession of massed choirs. They will make their way from the Priory Church, through Priory Gardens and across High Street South to The Square.

The Square is the venue for the town outdoor carol concert, which begins soon after the choristers arrive.

And the tree lights switch-on will be around 7.45pm.

Dick Whittington will be staged at the theatre from December 13-January 5.
