It was a big day for little learners at Barnfield Vale Academy when reception class hosted their own wedding on Wednesday.
The event was an extension of the Magical Me topic studied as part of the settling in process at the Wilbury Drive school in Dunstable.
During the project, the children have shared special items, talked about their families and learned about celebrating occasions, including looking at weddings in different cultures.
Principal Gill Ellyard said: “The Reception wedding was a fun-filled day enjoyed by all. It gave the children
a taste of how different cultures celebrate marriage and helped them to better understand the world around them.”
The children hand made formal invitations for the occasion and donned their party clothes when the big day arrived.
A wedding breakfast took place at lunchtime and parents and carers were invited to join in the “Evening Reception” at the end of the school day.
Each child had a picture taken with a friend under the balloon arch to mark the nuptials.
