The curtain will be going up for a variety show from a village amateur dramatics team this weekend, with help from special young performers.
This fun show will be staged by the Totternhoe Players,of Totternhoe, near Dunstable, under the musical direction of 17-year-old Mark Tallett.
And joining them will be local Brownies, Beavers and Cubs, as well as pupils from Donna’s Dance School.
Raffle proceeds will go to support those groups.
The Totternhoe Players are also backing local writing talent by including sketches and short plays by Gavyn Lugsden and Louise Treleaven.
And there will be musical interludes by Karen Wilson, joined on Saturday by Bernadette Freed.
It’s a great chance to learn what Pride and Prejudice dialogue would sound like in 21st century-speak, what people talk about in their doctor’s surgery, and what would happen if Cinderella ran a dating agency.
> Performances are on Friday and Saturday, October 4-5, at 7.30pm at Totternhoe Lower School. Tickets £9 (£5 for under-12s) include a ploughman’s supper and dessert. Box office 01582 603287.
