At a celebration dinner on June 26, the outgoing chairman of the Watling Street Club, David Turner, thanked club members for the support they gave to fundraising efforts throughout the past year.

All money collected will have been distributed between several local charitable groups including Work-Aid, Salvation Army, Keech Hospice, LAMP, Ian Rennie Hospice and Weatherfield School.

Incoming chairman Robert Doody presented David with an inscribed tankard marking his year, while Pauline Doody presented a bouquet to Sue Turner.

Robert, from Eaton Bray, is a local businessman and he pledged his support to continue the good work of the club during the coming year.
