A MAN was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a car crash in Edlesborough on Saturday.
The 39-year-old suffered a broken leg and facial fractures when the blue Renault Clio he was travelling was involved in a collision with a black Ford Ka in Leighton Road near the Travellers Rest Pub shortly before 3pm.
Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Service arrived at the scene and the man was taken by helicopter to Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
Police and ambulance reports suggest that the Renault flipped on its roof as a result of the incident, and passengers were trapped inside.
A 23-year-old man was cut on his face and head, while a 22-year-old and another 23-year old man suffered minor cuts and bruises.
Those three were treated at Luton and Dunstable Hospital. South Central Ambulance Service sent two ambulances to the scene, while Leighton Buzzard and Dunstable each sent a rapid response vehicle to assist. Police and fire services also attended and the road was closed to traffic until 6.10pm.
